Navigating Your Health History
Learn how to browse through your health data, meals, and check-ins in the History tab.
The History tab is your comprehensive health journal. It gathers your health metrics, logged meals, and daily check-ins into one place, allowing you to review your data and discover long-term patterns.
The Three Sub-Tabs
The History tab is organized into three main sections. You can switch between them using the buttons at the top of the screen.

Your complete timeline of all quantitative health data synced from Apple Health.
What you'll find:
- Heart rate readings
- Blood pressure measurements
- Step counts and activity
- Sleep data
- Body measurements
- Lab results
- All other health metrics
Display format:
- Chronological list, newest first
- Hourly aggregation for frequent data
- Each entry shows time, value, and source
🍎 Meals
A chronological log of all the meals you have tracked with the app.
What you'll find:
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
- Food photos and descriptions
- Nutritional summaries
- Meal times and dates
Display format:
- Grouped by day
- Shows meal type and title
- Thumbnail photos when available
- Quick nutritional overview
😊 Check-ins
A history of all your mood and symptom check-ins.
What you'll find:
- Mood ratings
- Energy levels
- Symptom logs
- Daily wellness notes
Display format:
- Listed by date and time
- Color-coded by mood
- Quick summary of symptoms
- Context notes you've added
Navigating the Timeline
Scrolling Through Data
Recent data: Appears at the top of each timeline
Older data: Scroll down to view past entries
Quick navigation: Use the date headers to jump between days
Pull to Refresh
On any of these screens, you can pull down to refresh the data, ensuring you're viewing the most up-to-date information.
When to refresh:
- After syncing Apple Health
- After logging a new meal or check-in
- After completing a workout
- When you want to see latest readings
Understanding Data Sources
Where Your Data Comes From
Each health metric entry shows its source:
Apple Health:
- Synced automatically from Health app
- May originate from Apple Watch
- Could be from other connected apps
- Manual entries in Health app
Sunu:
- Meals logged in the app
- Check-ins completed in the app
- Manual health entries
- AI-generated insights
Other Apps:
- Third-party fitness apps
- Medical devices and apps
- Health monitoring equipment
- Connected wearables
Viewing Entry Details
Opening an Entry
Step 1: Tap on any health reading, meal, or check-in in the list
Step 2: The detail view opens, showing:
- Complete information for that entry
- Trend charts (for health metrics)
- Full nutritional breakdown (for meals)
- All symptoms and notes (for check-ins)
Step 3: Tap the back button to return to the timeline
What You Can Do
View trends:
- See how this metric changes over time
- Compare to your averages
- Identify patterns
Ask AI:
- Get insights about the reading
- Understand what it means
- Ask follow-up questions
Share:
- Export specific data
- Share with healthcare providers
- Save to your files
Edit or delete:
- Correct mistakes
- Add missing information
- Remove duplicate entries
Organizing Your History
Date Navigation
Jump to specific dates:
- Scroll through the timeline
- Use date headers as anchors
- Look for patterns by day or week
Recent vs. historical:
- Recent data (last 7 days) loads first
- Older data loads as you scroll
- Infinite scroll for complete history
Search Your History
Find specific entries:
Step 1: Look for the search icon or bar at the top
Step 2: Type what you're looking for:
- Specific metric name (e.g., "blood pressure")
- Date or time period
- Meal name
- Symptom or mood
Step 3: View filtered results
Step 4: Clear search to return to full timeline
Understanding Time Periods
How Data is Grouped
Recent activity:
- Last 24 hours: Shown in detail
- Last 7 days: Easily accessible
- Last 30 days: Quickly scrollable
Historical data:
- Older than 30 days: Available on scroll
- Complete history: All data preserved
- No time limits: Access everything
Aggregated Views
For metrics with frequent readings (like heart rate):
Individual readings: Recent data shows each entry
Hourly averages: Older data may be aggregated
Daily summaries: Very old data might show daily stats
Why aggregation helps:
- Makes large datasets manageable
- Shows overall trends clearly
- Improves performance
- Easier to understand patterns
Tips for Effective Browsing
Quick Access
Use filters (on Health tab) to focus on specific metrics
Bookmark important dates by adding notes to entries
Check regularly to stay aware of your patterns
Compare time periods by switching between sub-tabs
Finding What Matters
Look for patterns:
- Regular check-ins help identify trends
- Meal timing and energy levels
- Sleep quality and next-day performance
- Stress and physical symptoms
Track goals:
- Review progress on specific metrics
- Celebrate achievements
- Adjust strategies based on data
Syncing and Data Freshness
How Often Data Updates
Automatic sync:
- Opens the app
- Pull to refresh
- Periodic background updates (if enabled)
Manual sync:
- Pull down on any History screen
- Open specific metric detail pages
- Launch app after recording new data
Data Delay
Typical sync times:
- Apple Health: Usually instant to a few minutes
- Workouts: May take 1-5 minutes after completion
- Sleep: Syncs upon waking and unlocking phone
- Manual entries: Immediate
Privacy and Data Control
Your Data Stays Private
Storage:
- Health data stored on your device
- Encrypted in transit and at rest
- You control what's synced
- Can export or delete anytime
Sharing:
- Nothing shared without your permission
- You choose what to export
- Healthcare provider sharing is opt-in
