Best Practices
For Healthcare Appointments
Report configuration:
- Last Month or Last 3 Months is usually enough for a routine visit
- Include all three sections (Vitals, Sleep, Workouts) for a full picture, or narrow to the specific area you want to discuss
Preparation:
- Generate report 1-2 days before appointment
- Review it yourself first
- Note questions about patterns
- Email ahead or bring printed copy
For Personal Records
Regular exports:
- Monthly or quarterly
- Archive for long-term tracking
- Back up to cloud storage
- Keep organized by date
For Insurance or Legal
Comprehensive approach:
- Use Last 3 Months for the longest built-in range
- Include all three sections
- Keep copies for your records
- For longer periods, generate multiple consecutive reports and archive them
Tips for Effective Reports
Choose Relevant Metrics
Don't include everything:
- Focus on what matters for the situation
- Too much data can overwhelm
- Select metrics relevant to concern
- Quality over quantity
Add Context in Communication
When sharing:
- Explain why you're sharing
- Highlight specific concerns
- Ask specific questions
- Provide your interpretation
Regular Generation
Benefits of routine exports:
- Track long-term progress
- Notice gradual changes
- Have historical data ready
- Compare different periods
Troubleshooting
Report Generation Fails
Possible causes:
- Too much data selected
- Network issue
- App bug
Solutions:
- Reduce date range
- Deselect some metrics
- Check internet connection
- Restart app and try again
- Contact support if persists
Report is Too Large
To reduce size:
- Pick a shorter date range
- Turn off sections you don't need (Vitals, Sleep, or Workouts)
- Generate multiple smaller reports over shorter periods
Missing Data in Report
Check:
- Date range includes the period the data was recorded
- The relevant section (Vitals, Sleep, or Workouts) is toggled on
- Data is synced in Apple Health or Health Connect
- Permissions are granted for that data category
Cannot Open PDF
Verify:
- PDF fully downloaded
- Compatible PDF reader installed
- File not corrupted
- Try different PDF viewer app
Privacy Considerations

📄 Preparation Tip
Generate your health report a day or two before your appointment, not the morning of. This gives you time to review it, notice patterns, and prepare questions. You'll be more informed and get more value from your doctor visit.
🔒 Security Reminder
Health reports contain sensitive personal information. Always use secure methods to share them (encrypted email, patient portals, in-person handoff). Never post health reports on social media or share via unsecured messaging apps.
